WPTE is planning to expand its horizons by going global. This leaves many online poker players wondering whether the company can duplicate its success elsewhere around the world.

World Poker Tour Enterprises is wagering that it actually will. New deals including Canada and the Philippines have already been executed.

WPTE is setting up shop at MIPCOM to properly make offers for launching its branded format in markets around the world. In the United States, that will involve 16 poker tournaments open to pros, recreational and celebrity players, captured for broadcast with a compelling mix of expert commentary, explanatory graphics, 16 cameras, top flight production values and great storytelling. The World Poker Tour introduced table-top cameras to reveal hole cards on US TV, which helped sky-rocket poker into what it is today.

WPT Enterprises, Inc. has capitalized on the value of the WPT brand worldwide with publicity,  a  WPTwebsite, and an broad lineup of licensed products.

While at MIPCOM, Lipscomb and MacKinney will also be working with Alfred Haber Distribution to maintain the sale of international rights to the WPT's previous 3 seasons of poker shows.
