Wednesday's 5th round at WSOP has poker pros dominating
July 14 The end of round 5 comes to a close with many online poker players keeping tabs on the event. Only 27 players were left standing at the end of Wednesday in Las Vegas. On this day, after playing it pretty safe, the poker pros came out on top. Being more aggressive, the big-name poker pros dominated most online poker enthusiasts left in The World Series of Poker. As probably expected, Phil Ivey and Mike Matusow, are still in the game holding 1st and second place respectively. At the end of Wednesday's 5th round Ivey had a staggering $4.6 million in chips to his name with Matusow holding at 1st with a whopping $5.1 million. Tuesday's man on top, Tim Phan lost his 1st place reign after Matusow shredded quite a few opponents leaving himself on top. Disappointed, both big-name players Farzad Bonyadi and John Juanda were among the eliminated. Also, last year's poker champ, Greg Raymer, went from falling below 30th place only to regain a respectable 5th place at the end of the day. Raymer mentioned that after a bad Tuesday - a good Wednesday followed. Raymer thankfully ended with $3.8 million in front of him, moving on to the final table. It seems that after 6 hard-core days of poker, the pros are dominating over any other gamblers such as the many online poker players that entered this year's 10 thousand dollar buy-in event. In 19th position we have the only remaining female player Tiffany Williamson, she fell from 7th place and landed at 19th. This puts major doubts in the minds of many online poker females that were hoping this would be the year of the woman. Who knows, we'll keep you posted.
