Poker robot plays well, but loses to poker champ

July 19

Many online poker players are talking about the other poker games event that took place at  Binion's this past weekend. Yes, while poker players (some of them online poker players) were vying for millions in another section of the casino in the WSOP, another poker player was playing against a robot.

Lately, poker playing robots have been all over, with each one claiming to practically clone pro poker players, for success in online poker rooms. Developers of the robots and professional card players got together to play a game of man V. machine.

No lie, last week the World Poker Robot Championship
commenced at Binion's during the same time the WSOP was taking place.  6 different robot developers entered their poker playing machines in a 3 day Texas Holdem event. The winner, a robot named PokerProbot, won the $100,000 grand prize sponsored by online casino giant Golden Palace.

Once the winner polished off the other 5 robots, it played against poker pro Phil Laak. Come to find out, the machine was no match for the poker great. Laak was victorious. Not to be poked real fun at, these robots held their own. Look out when playing online poker - HA!
