With the constant increase of poker tournaments sweeping the nation, the WPT continues to draw record numbers of players to its events. This weekend's record-breaking turnout for the Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino will be no exception. The event begins tomorrow and ends on Wednesday.

With an advanced estimate of more than 830 players coming to the table, that would result in a prize pool of over $4 million - it seems poker is here to stay. AT this rate, the remaining 14 events to be filmed for Season IV on the Travel Channel will also be record breakers.

If the estimate is correct, 1st place for the 2005 Legends of Poker will net over $1,100,000 for the winner. Last year, the legendary Doyle Brunson captured the crown. That 2004 event drew 667 players and a $3,335,000 prize pool.

For its part, the hosting casino, Bicycle Club has done a great job making room for such an event.

The next poker tournament on the WPT calendar is the Borgata Poker Open at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, Sept. 19-22.
