Beyond the hurricane's wrath, many wonder if the area will ever get back to what it once was. Alas, the thriving casino industry in both Louisiana and Mississippi has been basically destroyed. Even if the casino structure were good enough to open for business right away there are will be no utilities and even customers that are able to play. In Mississippi, virtually all of the casinos along the Gulf Coast have been completely destroyed or are in no shape to open. One casino was seen sliding into the Gulf the morning after the hurricane barreled through. The biggest casino in Biloxi Mississippi, the Beau Rivage even looks ravaged from the category 4 hurricane that hit the area in the early morning hours of Monday. New Orleans is a complete mess due to levy breaches that have caused the worse flood damage in the history of the tourist-driven city. At the least, we recommend that every online poker player take time to reflect on the devastation that has been thrust upon the casino industry not to mention human-kind in the area. Perhaps it is best that each player try to donate a bit of their playing money to aid the area. Highly recommended would be a donation on your behalf to the Red Cross at RedCross.org
